What is educational leave?
Educational leave refers to the legal entitlement of employees vis-à-vis their employers to paid time off from work for 5 calendar days per year to participate in recognized events that serve education and/or professional development, such as a language course, every year. In some states, it is permitted to combine two years of educational leave into a total stay of 10 days.
The language course is recognised by the Bildungsurlaub Act (except in Bavaria and Saxony) in the respective federal state or accepted by another federal state. Whether educational leave can be taken is not uniformly regulated and we ask you to enquire with your employer in good time whether you can take educational leave and to inform them of the planned dates as early as possible. You can take educational leave in the federal state in which your employer has its headquarters. Some employers have more than one head office and offer more than one option. The form of educational leave varies from land to land. In the chart below you can see the courses that we offer at Maltalingua, which can be taken through the scheme.

Our institution is an expert in the implementation of Bildungsurlaub and offers you the opportunity to take your Bildungsurlaub at our highly qualified language school in a maximum class of 12 students.
The government of your federal state offers you various excellent language courses for which we are accredited and implement together with you. After your course, you will receive a confirmation and a certificate of studies.
